The project leader, ICIS, is an educational platform, educating creative professionals in the concept of innovative, yet sustainable development, and how to implement these principles within design, architecture, industry, business and policymaking. ICIS currently offers educational programmes and courses to creative professionals in sustainable design and architecture.

Karen Blincoe, Director
Karen Blincoe is a trained graphic designer and has held various executive and honorary positions nationally and internationally in the fields of design and education. She has been elected treasurer in Icograda (The International Council of Graphic Design Associations) and is visiting professor at the Faculty of Design & Architecture at University of Brighton, UK. Karen was appointed head of department for Visual Communication at Danmarks Designskole, Copenhagen in 1991; has been a member of the Arts Council; is a Fellow of the CSD; and is a member of the Association of Danish Designers. Karen established design consultancy, KB Design in 1984, and O2 UK, (environmental design) consultancy in 1989. She is external assessor at Goldsmith’s, UK and part of the SD21 research group.
Erika Torres Luquín, Project Developer
Erika is Project Developer at ICIS where her main responsibility is with the ICIS/Lund EcoDesign project. She holds a BA in Managerial Finance, an MSc Environmental Issues in Latin America and MSc Environmental Policy and the Global Challenge. Her academic background was pursued in Mexico, UK and Denmark respectively and her environmental research has been mainly on Ecotourism, PET waste management and Organic/Fair Trade Coffee. Erika has worked for the Coca-Cola Company in Mexico City for four years in areas such as Marketing, Key Accounts and Commercial Finance. Her interest lies in promoting environmental conscience over the impacts of mainstream development.
